I’m pleased to announce two new art classes. Both will be taught at Laurel Bookstore in Oakland.
WATERCOLOR TECHNIQUES WORKSHOP
Saturday, March 18, 11 AM – 1PM.
A 2-hour watercolor workshop suitable for all-levels. Margo will provide examples and instruction so that you will have an enjoyable creativity experience in a supportive atmosphere. In this class we will go over watercolor washes and adding details in layers.
Please bring your own supplies – watercolor paint (preferably in a palette for ease of use); at least 2 brushes – 1 small, 1 med-large; watercolor paper/block; water container(s); a few paper towels; an object to paint (can be photos that you took yourself if you wish).; pencil and/or pen with waterproof ink.
COMBINING WATERCOLOR WITH COLLAGE
Saturday, April 8, 11 AM – 1PM.
We will experiment with combining watercolor painting with collage. Come prepared with a project to work on. If a portrait, you may want to bring several photos to work from.
Please bring basic watercolor supplies and collage supplies as follows.
Watercolor paint (preferably in a palette for ease of use); at least 2 brushes – 1 small, 1 med-large; watercolor paper/block; water container(s); a few paper towels; an object to paint (can be photos that you took yourself if you wish).; pencil and/or pen with waterproof ink. Several magazine or loose magazine pages, other interesting papers (wrapping paper, newspaper, etc.) or emphemera (stamps, stickers, etc.), scissors and glue stick.
This class is offered free of charge.
Laurel Bookstore at 1423 Broadway, Oakland, 94612, is wheelchair accessible from the back entrance off Frank Ogawa Plaza. There is free parking on Saturdays available at Clay Street Garage at 1414 Clay St. across the Plaza. Laurel Bookstore is about 1 block from 12th St./City Center BART.
WCRC is located in north Oakland at 5741 Telegraph Avenue at 58th Street.
